HUB Europe Supply Chain Management (SCM) Manager (f/m/d) | Hitachi

The Tone:
This is a full-time leadership role at Hitachi Energy, located in Madrid, Spain. Hitachi Energy focuses on advancing a sustainable energy future for all, particularly through its work in power transmission and distribution technologies. This position is a critical leadership role responsible for shaping and driving supply chain excellence across the European region. The Manager will influence strategic business decisions, build high-performing teams, and drive supply chain transformation within a complex international environment, directly contributing to the company’s purpose.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategy Leadership: Lead and execute HUB sourcing and spend management strategies, ensuring alignment with global SCM objectives.
• Performance Management: Drive regional supply chain performance to achieve optimal cost, quality, delivery, and supplier reliability.
• Goal Attainment: Deliver annual targets for cost reduction, supplier quality, delivery performance, sustainability, and material compliance.
• Process & Tools Implementation: Promote full utilization of digital SCM tools to increase efficiency and scalability, while ensuring implementation of Hitachi Energy’s sustainability standards, Supplier Code of Conduct, and supplier audit programs.
• Team Development: Develop organizational capability across the large, distributed team through comprehensive talent management, succession planning, coaching, and leadership development.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline, demonstrating foundational knowledge for supply chain leadership in an industrial and project-driven environment (EPC).
• Experience: Possess a minimum of 10 years of supply chain leadership experience specifically within an industrial and project-driven environment (EPC), including proven experience leading large, geographically distributed, and multicultural teams of over 100 professionals.
• Skills: Exhibit strong knowledge of sourcing, procurement, supplier management, and end-to-end supply chain operations, combined with an analytical mindset, excellent communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Bonus: A technical understanding of power transmission and distribution technologies is highly desirable, alongside international business experience with a demonstrated ability to influence across complex organizations.
