HR Service Manager | Milliman

The Tone:
This is a remote role at Milliman, an independent company with over 77 years of market-leading services and solutions for clients worldwide. Milliman helps companies address critical issues in areas like retirement funding, healthcare financing, risk management, and business transformation. This role is crucial for leading the global HR Service Team, ensuring the accurate and consistent delivery of HR administrative services, and driving the centralization and standardization of processes to support continued organizational growth.

What You’ll Actually Do
Team Leadership: Lead, manage, mentor, and develop the global HR Service Team, including a supervisor and associates across locations, setting clear expectations and fostering a high-performing environment.
Service Delivery: Oversee the delivery of HR administrative services, ensuring accurate, consistent, and timely processing of employee and business requests within established service-level expectations.
Process Improvement: Lead the centralization and standardization of HR processes from the business, identify opportunities for automation, and partner with HRIS on transformation initiatives and system enhancements.
Operational Governance: Establish and maintain consistent operating procedures, service standards, approval requirements, and quality controls, ensuring documentation is current and compliant with policies.
Data Integrity: Partner with HRIS and other HR functions to maintain the accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of employee data, overseeing transactions, recordkeeping, reviews, and audits.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR operations experience, including at least 3 years leading an HR service center, shared-services, or similarly structured team.
• Experience: Previous experience managing supervisors or other people leaders, leading geographically dispersed or global teams, and overseeing employee lifecycle transactions such as onboarding, data, and compensation changes.
• Skills: Experience centralizing and standardizing HR processes, using Human Capital Management systems, establishing and monitoring service levels and KPIs, and demonstrated success in process improvement or automation initiatives.
• Bonus: HR certification, such as SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or an international equivalent certification; or experience supporting system implementations, enhancements, or testing.
