Job Description: HR Intern
This is a summer internship (late May – August, with potential for a winter break extension) within BAE Systems’ nationwide Internship & Co-Op Program, LEAP (Learn, Engage, Apply, Progress). The position is hybrid and based in McLean, Virginia, supporting the Intelligence & Security Headquarters.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with various HR functions to gain a broad understanding of human resources.
• Work directly with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to support program delivery.
• Participate in the execution of the sector-wide internship program.
• Shadow HRBPs during employee relations activities.
• Learn about and contribute to employee onboarding processes.
• Partner with and gain exposure to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Talent Management initiatives.
• Support Talent Acquisition programs and initiatives, including recruitment marketing, event management, and recruiting/sourcing strategies.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Required:
• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resource Management or a related field.
• Rising junior, senior, or graduate student.
• Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize projects with multiple deadlines.
• Preferred:
• Previous HR internship experience.
• Completion of at least two years of undergraduate study.
• Local to a site location.
Pay Information:
• Full-Time Salary Range: $43,847 – $59,143 (Note: This range is based on market pay structures. Individual salaries are determined by factors including business needs, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications.)
• Temporary employees generally are not eligible for all BAE Systems benefits but may be eligible for some, such as a 401(k) plan, medical benefits (for those working 20+ hours/week), the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
