About The Role
Mortgages are an important element of Columbia Credit Union’s business and are essential to helping the organization meet its growth initiatives. The Intern position will have the opportunity to learn the business of the Home Loans division at a high level and participate in a variety of duties that provide the intern with an overview of the business while utilizing their skills to assist in day-to-day activities.
This position will assist in creating and generating reports, be involved in the development of an analytics dashboard, monitor daily pricing surveys as well as learn to use the Encompass loan system in conjunction with the associated reporting module. Additionally, the position will learn the basics of what is involved in producing a mortgage, various product types and how they function, and will contribute to how the credit union earns income from loan originations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of a division analytics dashboard.
- Learn to utilize Encompass and build production and operational reporting.
- Develop and learn about types of loans, residential lending industry trends, and other mortgage financial services.
Requirements
- Current college/university student.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Majoring in business, finance or related field.
- Must have experience with Microsoft products (Word, Excel, etc.), and able to become proficient with our LOS as required.
- Must have superior written and verbal communications skills when dealing with co-workers and management.
- Must be team oriented.
- Must be a mature, professional self-starter who is detail-orientated, demonstrates excellent work ethic, and brings an outgoing, positive approach.
- Must be able to manage a large volume of detailed work under tight deadlines and demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
- Strong time-management skills, willingness to assume responsibility, assist in maintaining the quality of all department work, punctuality and mental alertness.
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic fast paced environment.
- Possess strong analytical, mathematical skills. Should be proficient at financial calculators.
- Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
- Work location will be the Columbia Operations center with occasional travel to local offsite locations for events.
Compensation & Benefits
- $19.00/hour
- Eligible to accrue paid sick leave
