About the Job
This is a part-time position responsible for transporting Home Delivered meals for the Outagamie County Nutrition Program to eligible homebound participants. Participant eligibility is determined by Nutrition Program staff.
Job Description
The primary role is to deliver packaged meals to designated residences within a specified timeframe, ensuring food safety guidelines are followed. The role involves working independently, problem-solving, communicating effectively with participants, and maintaining accurate records.
Key Responsibilities:
• Transport packaged Home Delivered meals from a designated location to participant residences and back to a designated end location.
• Take monthly or as-needed home delivered meal temperatures to ensure food is within range, complying with state guidelines.
• Ensure meal delivery does not exceed ten (10) minutes per participant unless authorized.
• Compile and submit accurate and timely Nutrition Program records.
• Report delivery conflicts and issues to the Mealsite Manager and/or HHS-Aging & Nutrition Supervisor.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
• Attend required trainings and meetings.
• Complete required online trainings.
• Distribute educational and informational materials as requested.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Graduation from high school or GED with experience working with older persons and/or persons with disabilities preferred; OR any equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities for this position.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Sensitivity to the needs of older persons and persons with disabilities.
• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to work independently and make sound judgments.
• Ability to perform duties in a dependable manner.
• Ability to work cooperatively with others.
• Ability to follow instructions and be flexible to change.
• Ability to maintain Outagamie County DHHS and Nutrition Program confidentiality.
• Ability to perform accurate and timely record keeping tasks.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects up to 20 lbs. Up to 10 times per shift, understanding and utilizing proper body mechanics.
• Transport meals with own vehicle.
Additional Information:
• Part-time position: Monday-Friday ~10:45 AM-12:30 PM. Sub fill in Kaukauna, Seymour, and Hortonville, fill in as needed.
• Approximately 5-10 hours per week.
• Mileage reimbursed at the IRS rate.
• This position is not eligible for benefits.
