Job Description
High School Summer Internship Program – Hudson Valley Credit Union
Hudson Valley Credit Union is seeking 10 interns for our High School Summer Internship Program. This program is thoughtfully designed to create an immersive experience for students eager to gain practical working knowledge of the Credit Union industry, alongside valuable exposure to general business operations. Through a dynamic combination of rotational assignments, structured classroom training, and formalized feedback, participants will gain comprehensive exposure to multiple operational areas within HVCU.
Program Details:
- Pay: $16.50 per hour
- Location: Poughkeepsie, NY
- Assignment Length: July 7th – August 14th, 2025 (6 weeks)
- Schedule: Tuesday-Friday; 9:00am – 3:30pm
Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in rotational assignments across various business units of HVCU to improve technical and analytical skills, as well as enhance professional competencies.
- Develop a foundational understanding of HVCU’s product and service offerings, gaining practical experience through direct observation and assigned tasks.
- Utilize a courteous, enthusiastic, and open-minded approach to policies and procedures within the various departments.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all HVCU proprietary information in accordance with internal policy and procedure.
- Adhere to all Credit Union policies, procedures, and regulatory agency requirements.
- Participate in all required and recommended training and development, including, but not limited to, Bank Secrecy Act training (BSA), and demonstrate attained knowledge.
- Participate on Credit Union teams, projects, and strategic initiatives when opportunities arise.
- Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
- Embrace and apply HVCU’s guiding principles to all activities and responsibilities, including the Credit Union’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values.
- Support the Credit Union’s initiatives by consistently demonstrating teamwork and professionalism.
- Responsible for regular and predictable attendance, including punctuality.
Qualifications:
- Students who will be going into their Junior or Senior year in the upcoming academic year.
- New York State Working Papers are required.
- Students must be available for the entirety of the 6-week program (July 7th – August 14th, 2025).
- Strong academic standing is required.
- Reliable transportation is preferred.
