What You’ll Actually Do
• Instruct: Provide personalized, scheduled 1-on-1 online instruction to individual students, or accept instant tutoring requests on-demand.
• Guide: Guide students through effective problem-solving strategies, including free-body diagram construction and mathematical reasoning within physics contexts.
• Adapt: Identify concepts students commonly struggle with and adapt instruction using demonstrations, simulations, and scaffolded problem sets to meet individual learning needs.
• Explain: Clearly explain core physics concepts and connect them to everyday experiences, sports, engineering, and technology applications.
• Prepare: Prepare students for Regents Physics, AP Physics, and college physics prerequisites by building both physical intuition and mathematical skills.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Deep knowledge of core physics concepts including kinematics, dynamics, energy, waves and sound, light and optics, electricity and magnetism, and introductory modern physics.
• Experience: Proven ability to teach effective problem-solving strategies and guide students through kinematics calculations, force analysis, energy conservation problems, wave calculations, and basic circuit analysis. Proficiency in preparing students for Regents Physics, AP Physics, and college physics prerequisites.
• Skills: Ability to clearly explain Newton’s laws, conservation of energy and momentum, wave properties, and basic circuit analysis. Familiarity with high school physics curricula and common student challenges like vector addition or abstract electromagnetic concepts. Strong adaptability to meet individual learning needs and styles, supported by excellent communication skills and an engaging teaching style.
