Commercial Internship Job Descriptions:

Interns will work alongside experienced professionals as contributing members of various teams. Some travel may be required for specific roles. Here are the detailed job descriptions for each Commercial Internship position:

1. Scheduling Intern:

Focus: Optimize resource allocation and production schedules.
Responsibilities:
• Schedule deliveries of light products, feedstocks, and biofuels via pipeline or waterborne transportation.
• Coordinate pipeline, barge, and/or tanker movements for timely and efficient product shipments.
• Minimize transportation costs and ensure product quality.
• Monitor inventory levels at terminals and refineries to avoid shortages and excess working capital.
• Develop improved scheduling methods to optimize resource utilization, inventory levels, and costs.
• Coordinate communication between terminals, Commercial, Exchange, and Product Quality.
Desired Majors: Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, or related disciplines.

2. Marketing Intern (Two Tracks):

Corporate Office-based:
Focus: Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to identify growth opportunities.
Responsibilities: Gather and interpret data, create reports, assist with marketing strategies and campaigns.
Experience: Gain hands-on market research and data-driven decision-making experience.
Exposure: Product Quality, Governmental Affairs, Business Development, Terminal, Transport & Rail.
Field-based:
Focus: Gain hands-on experience with a Territory Manager’s responsibilities.
Responsibilities: Travel with a Territory Manager to customer offices and dealer gasoline locations, assist with prospecting new customers, and contribute to projects/studies relating to station financials and operations.
Exposure: Product Quality, Governmental Affairs, Business Development, Terminal, Transport & Rail.
Desired Majors: Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Finance, Business Analytics, or related disciplines.

3. Analytics Intern:

Focus: Support data-driven initiatives and gain experience in the Commercial organization.
Responsibilities: Assist with collecting, cleaning, and analyzing data, generate actionable insights, create reports and dashboards, conduct preliminary data analysis, and contribute to data-related projects.
Experience: Learn from experienced analysts and contribute to real-world business decisions.
Desired Majors: Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related disciplines.
Possible Groups/Commodities: Data Analytics & Strategy (DAS), Prediction & Optimization, Commercial Risk, Pricing, Renewables, Liquified Petroleum Gas exports, Pet Coke/Sulfur, Natural Gas Liquids (NGL), and Petrochemicals.

4. Coordinating Intern:

Focus: Manage and streamline operational and project-related tasks.
Responsibilities: Support coordination efforts across departments, ensure communication and efficient project execution, schedule meetings, track project progress, prepare reports, and assist with administrative tasks.
Experience: Develop organizational and multitasking skills while contributing to project success.
Desired Majors: Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Business Analytics, or related disciplines.

5. Systems Support Intern:

Focus: Maintain and troubleshoot Commercial systems and applications.
Responsibilities: Serve as a liaison between Commercial and IT for application enhancements, fixes, upgrades, life cycle management, new features, and overall system usability.
Experience: Gain hands-on experience in Commercial systems support and application management.
Desired Majors: Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Business Analytics, Data Science, or related disciplines.

6. Commercial Development Intern:

Focus: Identify and pursue new Commercial opportunities.
Responsibilities: Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and assist with proposal preparation and presentations. Collaborate with senior team members to analyze industry trends, assess project viability, and contribute to strategic planning.
Experience: Gain valuable experience in understanding the Commercial aspects of the oil and gas sector and developing business growth strategies.
