Heavy Civil Construction Internship Program

Are you a college student ready to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges? Ames Construction’s Heavy Civil Construction Internship Program offers practical, hands-on experience across various disciplines. Interns will work alongside seasoned professionals on impactful infrastructure projects, gaining valuable insights and contributing to critical construction efforts.
Internship Tracks Available
- Field Engineering: Interns will support daily construction operations, assist with site layout and surveying activities, and contribute to quality control efforts in the field.
- Estimating: Interns will learn to analyze project plans and specifications, develop comprehensive cost estimates, and assist in the preparation of bid proposals.
- Safety: Interns will participate in safety audits, monitor compliance with regulations, and actively promote a strong safety culture on active job sites.
- Geospatial: Interns will gain experience working with cutting-edge mapping and modeling tools to support various aspects of project planning and execution.
