Job Description: Hardware Engineering Intern – Trident Program

This is a full-time, 100% on-site summer internship opportunity located at Lockheed Martin’s Mitchel Field, NY facility.

As a Hardware Engineering Intern, you will:

Work on the Trident Hardware Engineering team: This team is responsible for designing, integrating, and testing hardware for the Trident Submarine Navigation program.
Learn about hardware design, integration, and test: This will be a hands-on learning experience, allowing you to gain valuable skills and knowledge in the field.
Participate in the development of enhancements for the next generation Trident navigation system: You will contribute to the advancement of critical technology for national security.

To be considered for this role, you must:

• Be a college sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Hardware Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field, or have equivalent experience/combined education.
• Have academic or professional experience using AutoCAD or CREO.
• Possess experience with analog, digital, and power supply circuit design.
• Have basic knowledge of processor design and architecture.
Be a U.S. Citizen: This position requires a government security clearance.
• Be able to work on-site at a facility that requires special access.

Desired Skills:

• Basic knowledge of full system development life-cycle development (requirements, design, test, integration & test, delivery).
• Understanding of estimation and control theory including Kalman filtering and smoothing.
• Basic knowledge of systems engineering – with system and component specifications, understanding of requirement flow-down, allocation, validation and verification processes.
• Experience with Windows & Unix/Linux, including shell scripting.
