About the Company:
The Walt Disney Company, the world’s largest licensor of intellectual property, is seeking undergraduate interns for its Hardlines Product Design & Development team within Disney Consumer Products. Description:
This is a paid internship (£23,500 annual salary) focusing on the product development lifecycle of Hardlines licensed products. Interns will be involved in the entire process, from concept design and sample refinement to seeing the final product on retail shelves. The role is multifaceted, requiring collaboration with internal teams and external licensees.
Responsibilities include:
• Working with the wider creative team to execute the product development process.
• Supporting design projects, trend research, and organizational tasks.
• Designing and developing best-in-class products for Disney’s beloved brands.
• Utilizing sketching and visualization skills (essential).
• Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners (licensees).
Specific product categories covered by the internships include:
• Plush and Direct to Retail toys
• Infant, Preschool, Vehicles, Role Play, and Action Toys (including Star Wars development)
• Party, Dress-up, Promotional Products, Arts & Crafts, Games & Puzzles, Dolls, and Role Play development.
Applicants can specify their preferred category in their cover letter. The internship requires a 4-day-a-week on-site presence.
Eligibility Requirements:
• Must be a second-year undergraduate student on an industrial placement year course, returning to study in Autumn 2026.
• Must have the right to work in the UK.
• Must be available to start full-time work from June 2025.
• Must demonstrate an interest in the chosen area of application.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Strong design and conceptual skills with abilities in analogue/digital sketching, visualization, and 3D product design.
• Competency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
• Proficiency in Keynote and Microsoft Office packages.
• Attention to detail and ability to work well under pressure.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, able to interact professionally with individuals at all levels.
