Job Description:

This position is for an emerging Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer who will join a team supporting various contracts and research/development efforts within Missiles and Fire Control.

Responsibilities:

Design, integrate, and test GNC, tracking, and/or servo control algorithm solutions for missile and fire control products.
Develop, verify, and validate complex models and simulations, such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations (6-DOF) and effects-based simulations.
Evaluate system performance in complex scenarios and environments and verify system and subsystem level requirements.
Perform critical studies, analyses, and test activities.
Support ground and flight test efforts, including Hardware-In-The-Loop (HWIL) activities.
Support program reviews and technical interchange meetings with internal leadership and/or external customers.

Required Qualifications:

U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD secret clearance (interim secret clearance required to start).
BS/MS degree in computer science, physics, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, applied mathematics, or similar.
Demonstrated ability to perform one or more of the following GNC or M&S assignments based on completed coursework or professional experience:
Developing and analyzing algorithms such as guidance, navigation, autopilot, inertial tracking, and servo control algorithms.
Developing and/or verifying/validating complex vehicle models and simulations such as missile 6-degree-of-freedom simulations.
Demonstrating experience in one or more of the following languages: C++, Matlab, Python.
Demonstrating strong math skills in the areas of linear algebra, matrix math, statistics, trigonometry, and coordinate transformations.

Desired Skills:

Proficiency with C++ programming, Matlab, Python, and Linux.
Ability to perform preflight system performance assessment and post-flight verification analyses.
Experience designing and analyzing target tracking and terrestrial navigation systems.
Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as extended Kalman filters (EKF).
Demonstrated skills in probability, statistics, and Design of Experiments (DOE).
Experience with Model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements.
Experience verifying/validating system and subsystem requirements.
Familiarity with software configuration management and software unit testing.
