About the job
This position encompasses a wide range of responsibilities focused on customer service, store maintenance, and operational support. The primary goal is to provide efficient and courteous service to customers at all times.
Key responsibilities include:
• Customer Interaction:
• Providing efficient and courteous service.
• Assisting customers in locating products throughout the store.
• Unloading shopping carts for customers at the checkout.
• Knowing and understanding the ValuCard program and being able to explain its benefits to customers.
• Bagging and Checkout Support:
• Following the proper procedures for packaging customer orders, strictly adhering to the company’s policies outlined in the bagging manual.
• Assisting cashiers to ensure customers are checked out as efficiently as possible.
• Filling bag racks to ensure availability.
• Never carrying on a conversation with another associate while bagging an order to maintain focus and efficiency.
• Store Organization and Maintenance:
• Keeping the work station and all surrounding areas neat and clean.
• Assisting in keeping shopping carts in their proper place on the front end.
• Retrieving stray carts from the parking lot.
• Assisting in sweeping and mopping all areas of the store.
• Keeping bathrooms neat and clean.
• Assisting in keeping the parking lot and shopping carts litter free.
• Replacing misplaced items to their proper location.
• Collecting trash and baling boxes as needed.
• Stocking and Inventory Support:
• Assisting in the stocking of milk and eggs.
• General stocking of merchandise.
• Knowing and understanding shelf tags in order to assist in price changes.
• Operational Tasks:
• Working the parcel pick-up area as directed.
• Proper usage of the intercom.
• Other Duties:
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.
