Job Description

Job Title: Graphics Intern

Program/Department: USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and USA Hockey Arena

Internship Period: September 2025 to April 2026

Overview:
This internship is for a Graphics Intern who will join the team for the upcoming season, starting in September 2025. The role is focused on graphic design tasks to support the marketing and game-day operations of USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program and USA Hockey Arena. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Photoshop and a creative eye. The work environment is described as fast-paced, requiring attentiveness to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to react quickly and appropriately.

Key Responsibilities:
On-site Support: Work in the office during the week to prepare for game days.
Marketing Campaign Execution: Collaborate with the Manager of Marketing Operations to efficiently execute marketing campaigns.
Graphic Design: Create various materials including:
• Lineup cards
• Promotional items
• Flyers
• Social media graphics
• Posters
• Other gameday materials

Skills and Qualifications:

Desired (Preferred but Not Required):
Academic Background: College student majoring in marketing, business, communications, or sport management.
Hockey Knowledge: Familiarity with hockey.
Event Experience: Experience with live event planning/execution.

Required:
Software Proficiency: Strong understanding of Photoshop.
Creative Eye: Ability to produce visually appealing designs.
Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented, crucial for a fast-paced environment.
Multi-tasking: Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Communication Skills: Strong communication skills and ability to maintain a professional demeanor.
Work Ethic: Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
Availability: Willingness to work in the office and some nights/weekends.

Work Environment & Expectations:
Pace: Fast-paced environment.
On-site: Primarily in-office work during the week.
Hours: Requires availability for some nights and weekends, especially for game days.
Qualities: Requires attentiveness to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to react quickly and appropriately.
