About the Company:
Opry Entertainment Group (OEG) owns and operates several prominent entertainment brands, including the Grand Ole Opry, Ryman Auditorium, Ole Red, ACL Live, and Category 10. They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Graphic Designer to lead the design and development of a wide range of marketing and promotional materials across all their brands.
Job Description:
This is a senior-level graphic design role reporting to the Creative Director – Marketing & Brand. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall visual branding and creative output for OEG’s diverse portfolio of entertainment venues and brands. Key responsibilities include:
• Leading Design & Development: The role encompasses the full creative process, from initial concept and design through to final production and delivery across various media—digital advertising, print advertising, website design, email marketing, logo design, collateral materials, presentations, and other marketing/sales promotional materials. This requires close collaboration with writers, designers, and other marketing team members.
• Brand Consistency & Improvement: Maintaining and enhancing OEG’s brand standards across all marketing disciplines is crucial. This includes contributing to work generated by external partners, sponsors, and internal departments.
• Project Management & Delivery: The candidate will lead creative projects, ensuring alignment with OEG’s brand guidelines. This involves identifying creative gaps, recommending innovative solutions, and optimizing creative and messaging to achieve marketing goals and drive business performance.
• Branding & Campaign Conceptualization: Working closely with the Creative Director, the designer will contribute to developing branding and campaigns that foster brand growth. Leveraging audience insights to create designs that resonate with both B2C and B2B segments is key.
• Asset Creation: The role requires creating a wide variety of assets, including effective ads, digital designs, video assets, logos, and collateral, all while staying current with design trends, technology, and best practices. Attention to detail is paramount, ensuring consistency and quality throughout the process.
• Cross-Departmental Collaboration: The designer will work closely with various teams (Marketing, Sales, Video Production, and stakeholders) to address design and creative challenges across both digital and physical platforms. This includes optimizing designs for web, social media, video, and print, while ensuring timely delivery and efficient workflow management.
• Weekly Marketing Schedule: Developing and executing a weekly marketing schedule is a core responsibility, delivering diverse creative assets (digital imagery, printed programs, flyers, marquees, live audience reads, presentations, posters, banners, signage, video creative, and other collateral) on time and aligned with branding and business objectives.
• Vendor Management: This position includes managing freelance designers and agencies, securing production bids, reviewing proofs, placing orders, and managing invoices within budget.
• Brand Asset Management: Developing and maintaining internal and external communication platforms (signs, social media, etc.), creating design templates, updating brand guidelines, and managing the asset library (photography, style guides, fonts, logos) to ensure easy access for the team and stakeholders.
• Vendor Relationships: Building and maintaining strong relationships with vendors (editors, freelance designers, printers) to secure favorable pricing and prioritize OEG’s needs.
• Collaboration & Feedback: Fostering a collaborative environment with internal teams and external partners, remaining open to feedback, and refining designs and messaging for maximum impact are critical aspects of this role.
Required Skills & Experience:
• Degree in graphic design or related field.
• 5+ years of proven graphic design experience (agency, in-house, or client-side), encompassing pre-press, web optimization, video/photography, and file maintenance.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating best-in-class design across various platforms and marketing channels.
• Experience managing vendors and budgets.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, iWorks, Figma, Canva, and Microsoft Office; familiarity with Workfront, WordPress, HTML, Flash, Final Cut Pro, and After Effects is a plus.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of brand management and marketing principles.
This position is based onsite in Nashville, TN.
