Graphic Design Intern Job Description:
This internship is part of Highwire’s national design team. You’ll be involved in creating assets for various visual communications, including:
• Social graphics
• Presentations
• Infographics
• UI/UX design
• Illustrations
• Logos
• Banner campaigns
• Style guides
• Brand development
This position requires an original thinker skilled at forming creative and strategic concepts and bringing them to life visually. The ideal candidate is a recent graduate with a BFA or BA in Graphic Design, Visual Design, or Motion Design.
Responsibilities:
• Design and development: Create projects from concept to production, understanding fundamental design principles like color theory, typography, composition, and branding.
• Collaboration: Work effectively with the team, collaborating with senior designers on multi-faceted campaigns and proposing ideas to solve client issues.
• Industry knowledge: Stay updated on the latest design trends and standards.
• Project management: Maintain files in a digital assets management system and demonstrate strong project and process management skills.
• Communication: Exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Desired Skills/Qualifications:
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator)
• Experience with Figma
• Experience in presentation design using InDesign, Google Slides, or PowerPoint
• Ability to incorporate feedback and direction
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
• Highly organized and detail-oriented
• Fluent in English (speaking and writing)
This is a six-month paid internship with the potential for full-time employment.
