Job Description: Grain Origination Sales Internship
This internship offers a valuable opportunity to gain real experience and learn within Cargill’s Ag & Trading business, which serves as a crucial link connecting agricultural producers to food, feed, and industrial customers globally. Ag & Trading manages a seamless supply chain, helping customers compete in the global market by efficiently delivering products from origins to destinations through marketing, sourcing, originating, storing, trading, consulting, and processing of grain, oilseeds, and sustainable agriculture products. This business has a vast asset footprint across Canada, the United States, and Mexico, including over 200 grain elevators, export/import facilities, oilseed crush plants, biodiesel facilities, and farm service centers.

Grain Origination Sales Internship Specifics:
• Focus Areas: This role allows students to apply classroom knowledge in a sales, risk management, carbon markets, and grain origination environment.
• Hands-on Experience: Interns will work on business projects within the sales and origination function, directly engaging with grain producers over the phone and on the farm.
• Responsibilities: May include assisting Strategic Farm Representatives and Grain Origination Merchants, as well as other personnel, in identifying and developing customer solutions and services, and contributing to regional grain origination objectives.
• Programming & Development: Interns have access to comprehensive learning resources, volunteer and community outreach opportunities (with paid time off for volunteering), and are invited to participate in events offering exposure to leadership, development opportunities, and cross-functional networking across the U.S.
• Duration: Internships are typically 12 weeks in duration, specifically from May/June to August 2026.
• Compensation: Interns are paid hourly, with an expected rate of $20.40 – $28.20. Compensation decisions are dependent on the intern’s graduation date and eligibility for full-time employment.
• Travel: The role involves approximately 50% or less travel, requiring frequent travel by personal vehicle within the assigned region for meetings. A safe driving history is required, and a motor vehicle record will be reviewed. Interns are responsible for transportation to and from work.
• Future Opportunities: Interns who demonstrate outstanding performance and a curiosity to learn more may be offered an internship, co-op, or full-time position to return the following year.

Job Locations:

• The role combines an office and field setting.
• Candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship opportunity anywhere in the U.S.
Required Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program (all majors considered).
• Graduation date between December 2026 and August 2027.
• Right to work in the U.S. that is not based solely on possession of a student visa or a visa sponsored by a third-party employer.
• Valid driver’s license in the United States and a safe driving history.
• Willing and able to travel approximately 50% as needed.
• Able to complete a 12-week internship in the summer (May/June – August 2026).
• Candidates must be geographically flexible and willing to relocate for an internship opportunity anywhere in the U.S.
• Proven ability to work effectively with individuals from a diverse set of backgrounds and cultures.
• Must possess a high degree of initiative and resourcefulness in completing work with limited guidance.
• Ability to contribute, both as part of a team and individually.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program with a major in Agricultural Business, Agricultural Economics, Agriculture Management, or similar agricultural discipline.
• Current access or can obtain access to personal vehicle for use of travel within the assigned sales region for the duration of the internship.
• Overall 3.0 GPA or higher based on a 4.0 scale.
• Ability to solve problems and make decisions independently.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence decision-making.
• Leadership skills and experience.
