Job Description: Sustainable UVgel Inks for Inkjet Printing

We are looking for an Organic Chemistry student who is eager to develop sustainable UVgel inks for inkjet printing applications. This is a challenging opportunity to contribute to a cutting-edge technology and gain valuable industry experience.

Your Assignment

Canon’s UVgel technology is specially developed for advanced printing based on UV curing principles. This technology combines the advantages of existing printing technologies while overcoming many limitations. Our latest release, the Colorado series, is a testament to our success in this area.

To further improve sustainability, we are developing a new generation of UVgel inks with integrated functionalities. This new technology will expand the application fields of our products, from high-quality graphics to sustainable packaging.

Your Role:

You will be responsible for synthesizing a range of functional polymers with varying molecular weights and monomer compositions. You will utilize analytical techniques like NMR and IR spectroscopy to evaluate the effectiveness of these syntheses.

The functional polymers will be used for crosslinking via photopolymerisation, and you will correlate the properties of the functional polymers to the properties of the crosslinked material.

Your Profile

• Research background in chemical synthesis, preferably polymer synthesis.
• Experience with materials characterization techniques such as DSC or IR spectroscopy.
• A result-driven and self-motivated team player.
• Availability for 5-9 months, working a minimum of 4 days per week.

What’s in it for you?

• A challenging assignment with skilled coaching.
• Internship/Graduation compensation of €500,- per month.
