The Role: Section Partnership Department Intern
The USTA is comprised of 17 distinct geographic Sections across the U.S., all working to support players and promote local and national sport growth. The Section Partnership department acts as a dedicated consulting team, collaborating directly with Section Chief Executive Officers/Executive Directors and their staff to achieve Section-specific goals. We are seeking a motivated graduate student to support this crucial team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as an internal consultant for USTA Sections, offering strategic guidance and support.
- Support ongoing client projects, contributing to their successful execution.
- Collaborate effectively with key stakeholders across various USTA Sections.
- Help develop and refine best practices for the Section Partnerships department.
- Analyze key data to gain insights into our strategic initiatives and operational effectiveness.
- Work closely with USTA staff to provide actionable insights and recommendations that further our mission to grow the game of tennis.
Program Details:
- Duration: 8-week program, commencing from June 9 through August 11.
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM ET.
- Location: Hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week on-site at our Orlando office.
- Compensation: Highly competitive wage of $35.00 per hour.
Who You Are (Qualifications):
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to tackle complex challenges.
- Excellent communication abilities, including an understanding of effective collaboration within a decentralized organizational structure.
- Comfortable and confident presenting to senior-level audiences.
- Experienced with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and proficient in analyzing complex datasets to extract key insights.
- Management consulting experience is highly desired.
- Intellectually curious with high standards for both personal and organizational performance.
- Familiarity with Agile development methodology, particularly in analytics or business intelligence applications.
- Strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills, coupled with the ability to diplomatically identify and articulate challenges and opportunities.
- Experience within the tennis industry, sports teams/leagues/NGBs, or grassroots advocacy organizations is preferred but not required.
