About Walmart’s Global Public Policy Team

The Global Public Policy (GPP) team at Walmart operates from both Bentonville, AR, and Washington, DC. Its primary mission is to identify and address risks and opportunities within the public policy landscape. This strategic focus aims to achieve several key objectives: maintaining and expanding the company’s “license to operate,” fostering opportunities for its 2.2 million associates, effectively serving millions of customers globally, building shared value within the communities it serves, and protecting and enhancing Walmart’s overall reputation.

Walmart emphasizes “Belonging,” with a vision of “everyone included.” The company strives to foster a workplace culture where all individuals feel included, recognizing that this approach benefits everyone. With approximately 90% of the U.S. population living within 10 miles of a Walmart or Sam’s Club, and operations in 18 other countries, the company’s associates and customers reflect diverse populations. By creating a welcoming environment where all people feel they belong, Walmart aims to engage associates, strengthen its business, improve customer service, and support the communities where it operates. The goal is to cultivate a culture where every associate feels valued for who they are, underpinned by respect for the individual.

Walmart offers competitive pay and other benefits designed to support associates’ well-being. The specific benefits and eligibility details are available on One.Walmart.
