The Tone:
This is a temporary summer internship at Georgia Power, located within a reasonable, daily commuting distance to the operating headquarters. Georgia Power is a leading electric subsidiary of Southern Company, dedicated to delivering clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to 2.6 million customers across Georgia. This role offers hands-on experience in the power delivery sector, contributing directly to essential utility operations. Interns will work with power delivery and shared services crews, gaining practical skills in a physically demanding environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support: Provide hands-on assistance to Georgia Power Delivery & Shared Services work crews in their daily operations.
• Learn: Acquire practical, entry-level experience within the power delivery sector through active participation.
• Perform: Execute manual labor tasks as directed by crew leaders, contributing to the overall work effort.
• Adapt: Operate diligently in physically demanding conditions, including various outdoor weather environments.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School diploma or equivalent; Entry-level.
• Experience: Must be at least 18 years of age by September 1, 2026; possess a valid driver’s license; available to work Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM for the full summer duration.
• Skills: Demonstrate the ability and desire to work safely and display ethical behavior; ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.
• Bonus: Ability to work diligently in challenging physical environments and adapt to various weather conditions.
