Job Description

About the Company:

The company is a part of Salesforce, working within their GovCloud Service engineering team. This team is responsible for the continuous delivery of services in the GovCloud Production Engineering environment. They onboard new products and services into GovCloud and new customers. They collaborate internally to improve automated CI/CD pipelines, troubleshoot production issues, and work with large-scale production infrastructure within third-party cloud service providers. The team focuses on automating processes and works with developers, open-source committers, and architects to find or create the right tools for the job.

Job Description (Internship):

This internship offers opportunities to participate in service deployments, interacting with development teams and observing change controls at scale within a DevOps environment. Interns will develop code (primarily interpreted languages) for automation and reporting, collaborating with experienced developers on existing and new projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Solving infrastructure problems using code, emphasizing reusability, and working with compute capacity and Kubernetes deployments at scale.
• Leading projects in the design, development, and post-release support of Salesforce platforms and tools used by internal teams supporting government clients.
• Collaborating on efficient iterations of automated CI/CD pipelines to maintain service owner feature velocity and resolve production issues.
• Demonstrating autonomy and ownership, proactively managing progress.
• Understanding large-scale production infrastructure within third-party cloud service providers.
• Automating processes to replace manual tasks.
• Creating and maintaining detailed documentation.
• Improving collaboration skills by working with various infrastructure teams.
• Researching and implementing appropriate tools; creating new ones if necessary.

Required Qualifications:

• U.S. citizenship (no dual citizenship) and ability to pass government security screenings (including a Criminal Justice Information Services screening with fingerprint scan). Verification will be through two REAL ID Act documents (U.S. Passport, Passport Card, REAL Driver’s License, Global Entry Card, U.S. Government CAC/PIV). Completion of a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) for a Moderate Public Trust position is required, along with additional clearances as needed.
• Enrolled in a BS/MS program in Computer Science or a related field, and returning to school the following quarter/semester.
• North American college/university attendance.
• Proficiency in Python.
• Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
• Experience with Kubernetes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Terraform.
• Experience with Spinnaker.
• Experience with Jenkins.
• Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals.
