Global Security Design & Engineering (GSDE) Center of Excellence Internship

About the Role & Program:

The Global Security Design & Engineering (GSDE) Center of Excellence (COE) is seeking a highly motivated and technically-minded intern to support the technical coordination and integration of Research & Development (R&D) activities within the program. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of physical security while contributing to the advancement of Disney’s security technology.

Responsibilities:

• Assist GSDE Manager(s) and the Program Manager in conducting physical security R&D testing, evaluation, and documentation.
• Facilitate the establishment of the COE process and governance model, contributing to the overall program development.
• Coordinate and facilitate communication, promotional activities, and program-related initiatives within the COE.
• Ensure quality assurance and control for design documentation and field testing.
• Assist in resolving technical questions arising from R&D testing.
• Provide technical input to project team members to support informed decision-making.

Required Currently pursuings & Skills:

Solid understanding and curiosity about learning physical security technology and software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Digital literacy, including experience using Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Slack, and Teams.
Ability to take direction, adapt to change, establish relationships, and work effectively in a team environment.

Education:

Enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application.
Currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
Junior, senior, or recent graduate studying Engineering, Computer Science, or Security.

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.

Additional Information:

Must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
This internship is primarily an onsite position. Must be able to provide own housing and reliable transportation for work in the Glendale, California area.
Requires a working, reliable internet connection and a quiet, dedicated workspace.
The pay rate for this role in California is $22.00 per hour.
