Global Ocean & International Logistics Lead | Mondelez

The Tone:
This is a full-time role within Mondelēz International’s Asia, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region, contributing to the mission to change the way the world snacks. Mondelēz International crafts iconic global and local brands, including biscuits, chocolates, candies, and beverages. This role is pivotal in managing the global ocean freight network, ensuring cost-effective, reliable, and compliant transportation solutions across diverse geographical regions and time zones.

• Mission: Lead strategic ocean freight procurement initiatives to ensure cost-effective, reliable, and compliant global transportation solutions.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, CSO, e-sourcing platforms

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Sourcing: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive global ocean freight sourcing strategies to optimize costs, service levels, and operational efficiency.
• Category Management: Lead all aspects of ocean freight category management, including market analysis, demand forecasting, tender processes, contract negotiation, and performance management.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong strategic relationships with ocean freight carriers and service providers on a global scale.
• Global Stakeholder Management: Effectively collaborate with and influence internal stakeholders across various functions and geographies, managing diverse expectations and time zones.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Utilize advanced Excel and data analysis techniques to monitor market trends, analyze performance metrics, identify cost-saving opportunities, and provide insightful reports to senior leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field. This role requires a professional with a strategic individual contributor or lead-level background in global logistics.
• Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience in ocean freight sourcing, procurement, or category management within a global supply chain environment, with proven ability to manage global logistics operations across diverse time zones.
• Skills: Expert proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data manipulation, analysis, and reporting; exceptional negotiation, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to influence at all levels; strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive, results-oriented approach.
• Bonus: Master’s degree or relevant professional certifications (e.g., CSCMP, APICS); familiarity with CSO and e-sourcing platforms.
