Description: Global Communications Internship
This internship is a 10-week program that will provide you with hands-on experience in the communications field. You will be part of the Global Communications organization, working alongside experienced mentors and Cisco leaders.
You will gain valuable experience in:
• Corporate Communications: This includes internal and external communication strategies, media relations, and crisis communication.
• Analyst Relations: Engaging with industry analysts and building relationships to understand market trends and influence perceptions of Cisco.
• Operations: Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Global Communications team, including event planning, content creation, and data analysis.
• Public Relations: Developing and implementing public relations campaigns to increase brand awareness and build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
• Strategic Execution: Contributing to the development and execution of communication strategies aligned with Cisco’s business goals.
• Digital Communications: Creating and managing digital content, including websites, social media, and online campaigns.
• Employee Communications: Developing and delivering internal communication programs to engage and inform employees.
Responsibilities:
• Build a project plan: You will identify business issues and collaborate with interns and Cisco leadership to develop a comprehensive project plan.
• Enhance your communication skills: Learn and apply communication skills in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
• Participate in development opportunities: Take advantage of networking events, volunteer opportunities, and social activities throughout the summer.
• Contribute to communication projects: Your assignments will align with your skills, interests, and educational background, giving you exposure to various aspects of the Global Communications organization.

Minimum Currently pursuings:
• Recent graduate or currently enrolled in a Communications program (certification program, apprenticeship, community college, or 4-year university).
• Extensive experience in public relations, digital communications, event planning, and/or multimedia content creation.
• Demonstrated ability to create clear, compelling, and engaging content across various channels (creative writing, technical documentation, press releases, blog posts, etc.).
• Experience in initiating and leading projects, showcasing entrepreneurship and initiative.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities in student organizations or extracurricular activities.
• Strong attention to detail with exceptional spelling and grammar skills.
• Legally able to live and work in the country of application without visa support or sponsorship.
Preferred Currently pursuings:
• Strong presentation skills: Demonstrated ability to present information and ideas to diverse audiences.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills: Ability to use Excel for data analysis, reporting, and tracking communication metrics.
• Experience as a Campus Ambassador: Experience in representing organizations or brands on campus, showcasing strong communication, networking, and promotional skills.
• Social Media Expertise: Minor in social media or equivalent professional experience in social media campaign management and strategy.
• UI/UX Knowledge: Familiarity with user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) principles to enhance digital communications and create user-friendly content.
