Job Title: GL Accounting Intern
Job Summary:
The GL Accounting Intern is a supervised role designed to assist with various General Ledger (GL) accounting, reconciliation, and administrative duties. The position offers valuable exposure to different facets of accounting, relevant systems, and reporting procedures within a professional environment.
Primary Objectives:
The core objectives for this intern include:
• Following instructions to accurately execute assigned tasks within specified parameters and deadlines.
• Proactively asking questions and seeking clarification whenever needed to ensure understanding and correct task completion.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The intern’s responsibilities are diverse, ranging from clerical support to more analytical accounting tasks:
• Clerical Tasks: Performing various administrative duties such as filing, data entry, document scanning and processing, organizing files and materials, and assembling/collating mailings, presentation materials, and information packets.
• Journal Transaction Review: Reviewing journal transactions, verifying codes, and either resolving or escalating exceptions to ensure accurate and finalized posting following established procedures.
• Policy Enforcement: Applying and enforcing established financial policies and procedures.
• Financial Data Analysis (May): Potentially assisting with the analysis of financial data, including reviewing budget-to-actual variances.
• Audit Preparation (May): Potentially assisting with the preparation for external audits.
• Correspondence and Research (May): Potentially assisting with phone and email correspondence, inquiries, research, and related tasks.

Qualifications:
