About the Job
Job Title: Geomatics Intern – Fall 2025
Location: Gainesville, FL office
Job Description:
This is a paid internship program designed for college students, providing a well-rounded learning environment that enhances classroom education with hands-on experience. Interns will work on real projects for WGI’s private and public clients, bridging the gap between academics and the professional work environment. The program aims to help interns develop skills necessary to navigate everyday work scenarios and discover potential career paths within WGI.
Key Responsibilities:
• Working on challenging projects that require collaboration within and among various departments.
• Contributing to team projects and individual tasks assigned within the Geomatics discipline.
• Maintaining punctuality and dependability, and adhering to company policies and guidelines.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned based on the intern’s experience.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Must be currently enrolled in a surveying or closely related college program.
• Possess solid PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Ability to adapt to and work in varied environments, including indoors, outdoors, and at project locations.
• Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis. WGI is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas for this position.
Physical Demands:
The role primarily involves work in an office setting, requiring:
• Hand-eye coordination for operating a computer, keyboard, and mouse.
• Ability to use a telephone headset for virtual communication via Zoom and/or Microsoft Teams.
• Frequent requirement to sit for prolonged periods.
• Use of hands/fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
• Ability to speak and hear.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
