LIVING INSPIRED – GENERAL MANAGER | Big Sandy Superstore

The Tone:
This is a full-time, on-site role at Big Sandy Superstore, located in Dublin, OH. Big Sandy Superstore is an established organization launching Living Inspired, its new experience-led furniture and bedding division. This role is critical in shaping how the Living Inspired customer experience comes to life, focusing on thoughtful guidance, elevated service, and trusted relationships to make lives better. The General Manager will be a hands-on, builder-style leader, personally delivering the experience and shaping the division’s structure and team during its pilot phase.

• Team: Reports to Director, Living Inspired Division
• Mission: To bring the Living Inspired division’s vision to life day-to-day through relationships, judgment, and execution, while the business is still being built.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Serve as the day-to-day leader of the Living Inspired furniture and bedding business.
• Build: Cultivate and maintain trusted relationships with designers, trade partners, and end users, ensuring an intentional, trustworthy, and human experience.
• Own: Take immediate ownership of outcomes, including service recovery, and translate the division’s vision into practical, real-world execution.
• Shape: Learn quickly from customer and partner feedback to adapt strategies, and help shape future roles, processes, and structure as the division grows.
• Model: Model accountability, professionalism, and relationship-first leadership, partnering closely with the Director of Living Inspired to ensure alignment.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Managerial leadership focusing on customer experience, relationship building, and business stewardship within a retail or service environment.
• Experience: No specific years required. Helpful experience includes furniture, bedding, design, or another high-service environment.
• Skills: A trust-building presence that puts people at ease, personal accountability, and strong judgment rooted in customer care. Learning agility, curiosity, and comfort operating without a finished playbook. Emotional maturity, steadiness under pressure, and a relationship-first, long-term mindset. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities; business and financial awareness appropriate for a growing division; comfort building structure and clarity over time.
• Bonus: Leadership experience in a growth or build phase.
