The Tone:
This is a full-time General Manager in Training position at Leslie’s, located across its extensive network of 900+ retail locations within 35+ states. Leslie’s is the largest and most trusted direct-to-consumer brand in the U.S. pool and spa care industry, serving residential and professional consumers with an extensive and largely exclusive assortment of essential pool and spa care products. This role is a structured, hands-on program designed to develop future retail leaders, preparing them for critical Store Manager or Senior Assistant Store Manager roles upon completion. It represents Leslie’s commitment to team development and growth, fostering a positive atmosphere where contributions are valued for the company’s continued success in providing best-in-class products and solutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Operations & P&L Management: Learn and actively support all facets of retail store operations, including managing sales, handling payroll processes, and overseeing expense management to understand profit and loss (P&L) statements.
• Customer Engagement & Service: Deliver exceptional customer service by leading through example, performing detailed water analysis for customers, and assisting with basic mechanical repairs related to pool and spa equipment.
• Sales Growth & Team Development: Drive consistent sales growth for both residential and commercial customer segments, while also contributing to the hiring, training, and ongoing development of store team members.
• Store Environment & Inventory Control: Maintain a consistently clean, organized, and welcoming store environment, which includes assisting with merchandising displays, implementing inventory control measures, and managing stock efficiently.
• Safety & Operational Compliance: Ensure strict compliance with all safety policies and established procedures within the store, and support daily operational routines such as opening and closing procedures, including accurate bank deposits.
• Adaptability & Collaboration: Adapt effectively to changing priorities in a fast-paced retail environment and collaborate with cross-functional partners to support overall store success.

• Background: Entry-level to experienced leaders pursuing a long-term career in retail management.
• Experience: Commitment to successfully complete all GMIT and Talent Platform training modules and achieve placement in the succession program.
• Skills: Excellent communication skills, proficiency with computers, and comfort using retail systems.
