The Tone:
This is a full-time, long-term contract role at Harvard Resource Solutions LLC, supporting a large automotive supplier in Troy, MI. This hybrid position is essential for providing comprehensive support in full cycle accounting, general ledger coding, account reconciliations, and month-end close processes. The General Ledger Accountant will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial reporting for assigned divisions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Accounting Support: Provide comprehensive accounting activities for a designated group of divisions and collaborate with the North America Accounting team.
• Financial Transactions: Manage full cycle accounting and financial transactions, including preparing journal entries with accurate GL account and cost center coding.
• Reconciliation: Perform complex general ledger postings and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting and identify unusual items.
• Data Consolidation: Complete data loads for financial consolidation into OneStream for actuals, forecasts, and budgets.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving transaction-level processing within the department and ensure adherence to company-wide accounting policies, controls, and procedures.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a similar field is required.
• Experience: 4+ years of accounting experience, specifically including account and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close processes. Experience working at a company with multiple locations is also required.
• Skills: Strong analysis skills, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency with MS Office (intermediate to advanced Excel skills). Experience with ERP systems is essential.
• Bonus: Automotive or Manufacturing industry experience is desirable. Experience with SAP S4Hanna, HFM, or OneStream is highly preferred. The ability to interview and start quickly, along with passing a background check, is also preferred.
