About the Internship

This summer, you will take ownership of a high-impact growth project focused on how La Brea Bakery wins with Gen Z. Your mission will be to unravel how Gen Z discovers food, makes buying decisions, and chooses brands. Your work will translate real consumer insight into clear, actionable strategies across retail, packaging, and digital marketing, directly shaping how La Brea Bakery connects with Gen Z in the years to come.
Accountabilities (What You’ll Be Doing)
- Own Gen Z consumer research across shopping behavior, food culture, and media habits, then synthesize insights into clear growth opportunities.
- Define a sharp “Why We Win With Gen Z” brand framework rooted in La Brea Bakery’s product, heritage, and unique points of difference.
- Identify the highest value Gen Z occasions and consumption moments that unlock incremental demand.
- Turn strategy into practical playbooks across retail, foodservice, packaging, social, and partnerships.
- Build executive-ready storytelling and present clear recommendations to senior leadership.
Potential Projects
The intern will act as a junior brand strategist supporting La Brea Bakery’s 2026 growth agenda. This role will lead a capstone project to define a clear “Why We Win With Gen Z” strategy, translating consumer insights into actionable recommendations across retail, foodservice, packaging, and digital marketing. The intern will partner closely with Marketing, Sales, and Innovation and present findings to senior leadership at the end of the program.
Minimum Qualifications (What You Bring To The Table)
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or Analytics, with a preference for interns in their Junior year.
- GPA of 3.0 or higher.
- Demonstrated experience in consumer research and insight synthesis.
- Proficiency in PowerPoint and executive storytelling.
- Basic data analysis and trend interpretation skills.
- Strong social and digital content literacy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Program Eligibility
- Must be able to work full-time for a minimum of 11 consecutive weeks (June 1 – August 14).
- Must be able to work from the LA HQ, Monday-Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely each Friday.
- Must pass pre-employment background and drug screening with satisfactory results.
Hourly Rate
$25.00
