About the Role: Gas Leak Surveyor

As a Gas Leak Surveyor, you will provide a vital service to utilities and the public by ensuring pipeline integrity. You will utilize a variety of specialized equipment to survey gas lines. When a leak is detected, your responsibilities will include thorough investigation, classification, and documentation.

This is an entry-level, full-time position, perfect for individuals looking to start a rewarding career. Instructor-led training will be provided to equip you with all the necessary skills.

• Starting Pay: $17/hour
• Schedule: Daytime, full-time. Overtime and weekend work may be required.
• Training: 100% paid, instructor-led training provided from your first day.

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities):

• Read and interpret gas company maps and records.
• Detect, locate, and evaluate leaks using prescribed procedures and specialized equipment.
• Classify leaks in accordance with company and contractual guidelines.
• Immediately report identified leaks to the gas company under contract.
• Complete daily workload accurately, efficiently, and on time.
• Perform locates with a strong emphasis on safety.
• Complete all required paperwork and sketches meticulously.
• Maintain open lines of communication with Management.
• Provide assistance in other areas if needed.
• Adhere strictly to company guidelines set forth in the employee manual.
• Be willing to perform duties in new areas when requested.
• Demonstrate respect and care for all company-issued equipment.

What We Need From You (Requirements):

• Proficiency in using current technology, including smartphones and tablets.
• Ability to communicate effectively in one-on-one settings and when addressing a group.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all types of weather conditions (outdoor experience preferred).
• Availability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
• Must pass a drug screen.
• Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record are required.
• Ability to work effectively both within a group and individually.
• Basic ability to use simple hand tools.
• Basic skills in computer usage, map reading, routing, and problem-solving are beneficial.
