Job Description: Full Time Structural Engineering Intern

WSP USA’s Transportation Facilities team in Boston seeks a full-time Structural Engineering Intern for their 12-week summer internship program (starting May 19th, 2025, with flexible start date). This is a temporary position open to undergraduate or graduate students.

Responsibilities:

• Support various engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn fundamental structural engineering principles.
• Assist with project research, fieldwork, preliminary design calculations, and analysis.
• Contribute to the preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Aid in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete assigned training.
• Uphold responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct.
• Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications:

Required:
• Active enrollment in an accredited structural engineering (or related) undergraduate program, graduating May 2026 or later.
• Age 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in structural engineering and a strong desire to enhance skills relevant to WSP’s work.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions from leadership.
• Basic proficiency in technical writing, office automation software, spreadsheets, and technology.
• Proven commitment to workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s safety policies.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Preferred:
• Enrollment in an accredited structural engineering (or related) Masters or PhD program, graduating May 2026 or later.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office.
• Prior internship and campus leadership experience.
