About the Job: Full-Stack Product Engineer, Workforce Controls Automation Team (WCAT)

The Workforce Controls Automation Team (WCAT) at Netflix develops software products and services that enhance workforce security. Their work involves aggregating security information, generating security impact insights, automating tasks, and managing risky situations. A key focus is providing contextualized guidance and transparency to employees regarding security control changes.

This role requires an experienced full-stack product engineer to drive product development. The successful candidate will build data-driven solutions to understand and scale vendor security within Netflix. This involves creating user-friendly interfaces, backend services, data pipelines, and prototypes, and managing the entire product lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

• Developing front-end user interfaces (UI) and back-end services.
• Constructing data pipelines.
• Creating product prototypes.
• Contributing across all stages of the product life cycle.
• Working on products that improve understanding of Netflix’s vendor landscape.
• Delivering security guidance to internal customers and stakeholders.
• Effectively communicating complex security information to reduce risk and effort.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams (software and security engineers, product managers, internal customers).

Required Skills and Experience:

• Experience building products using Javascript (Node/React) and/or Python.
• Strong full-stack development skills and a proven track record of creating end-to-end solutions, with an emphasis on effective UIs and data-heavy applications.
• A proactive approach to understanding the “why” behind problems to inform decision-making.
• Familiarity with system design and architecture, and a commitment to continuous software improvement.

Desired Qualities:

• Belief in the importance of diverse and inclusive teams.
• Strong collaborative skills.
• Data-driven decision-making.
• Empathy for users and an interest in the complete product lifecycle.
• Effective communication of complex information.
• A willingness to challenge the status quo and find innovative solutions.
• Ability to take ownership of projects from concept to completion, including effective time management.
• A desire to improve systems and leave things better than they were found.

Prior security experience is not mandatory, but an interest in learning about Netflix’s security landscape and working on security-related products is essential.
