EduTrend is a remote-first edtech startup developing a behavioral tracking and analytics platform for students with special needs. They are in the development phase and aim to launch a beta by Fall 2025.
They are seeking full-stack development interns to contribute immediately across the stack.
What EduTrend is Building:
The platform helps schools and specialists collect, track, and visualize behavioral data for early intervention and support planning. Interns will contribute to core features and infrastructure.
Intern Responsibilities:
The intern will be actively involved in:
• Migrating the React + Vite web codebase into a shared React Native / React-Native-Web component library for cross-platform use.
• Using Expo to streamline development, testing, and deployment of React Native apps.
• Building and optimizing mobile interfaces to support classroom data entry and review on iOS/Android devices.
• Developing and maintaining a GraphQL API with Apollo Server + Node.js.
• Modeling and querying data using MongoDB + Mongoose.
• Implementing and managing Firebase Authentication for users and roles.
• Working with Redis caching for performance-sensitive queries.
• Using Docker for development and deployment environments.
• Writing Python scripts to process behavioral data and generate reports.
• Supporting deployment and monitoring on Oracle Cloud.
• Ensuring secure handling of sensitive educational data, with a focus on cybersecurity best practices and compliance.
Required Skills:
• Proficient in JavaScript
• Experience with React Native and cross-platform mobile development
• Solid understanding of GraphQL (Apollo preferred)
• Familiarity with MongoDB or other NoSQL databases
• Comfortable using Docker, Git, and Linux-based dev environments
• Experience with Firebase Auth or similar auth systems
• Basic Python scripting skills
• Experience with cybersecurity, data encryption, and securing web/mobile applications
• Strong communication in a remote async team
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Bonus: Experience integrating Human Interface Devices (HID)
