Job Description:

This role focuses on delivering an outstanding customer experience in a Fred Meyer store. You will be responsible for ensuring a safe and clean environment, encouraging repeat business, and assisting the department manager in achieving sales and profit goals. A key aspect of this position is embracing the Customer 1st strategy and promoting excellent customer service among associates. You’ll also be expected to uphold the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service:
• Creating a welcoming and appreciative environment for customers.
• Answering customer questions about products in the department and throughout the store.
• Providing product samples and informing customers of specials.
• Providing fresh products and recommending items based on customer needs.
Product Handling and Management:
• Checking product quality and “sell by” dates.
• Labeling, stocking, and inventorying merchandise.
• Reporting any ordering/shipping discrepancies.
• Maintaining proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
Departmental Support:
• Displaying a positive attitude and staying informed about current and future ads.
• Adhering to all food safety regulations.
• Maintaining temperature logs.
Safety and Security:
• Reinforcing safety programs and identifying unsafe conditions.
• Performing preventive maintenance on equipment and reporting any issues.
• Notifying management of accidents.
• Reporting safety risks, illegal activity, and security concerns.
Teamwork and Conflict Resolution:
• Working cooperatively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Managing conflict in a reasonable and cooperative manner.
Integrity and Ethical Conduct:
• Acting with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.
• Following directions and seeking assistance when needed.
• Providing support and assistance to minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
