Job Description:
This is a founding engineer role at Arist, offering the opportunity to be part of a small team building the future of AI-driven learning and performance. You will work closely with another founding engineer and the co-founder/Head of Product. Responsibilities include:
• Building Agentic Experiences: Developing experiences embedded directly into the Arist platform that leverage external LLMs (Large Language Models) like OpenAI and Anthropic for outputs and conversations. This involves creating AI agents capable of interacting with users.
• Customization Layer: Designing and implementing a system that allows for customization of AI behavior and outputs to meet specific customer needs.
• Voice-Based Agent: Launching a new user experience that utilizes voice interaction with the AI agent.
• Evaluation Pipeline: Building a robust system to assess and improve the performance of the AI agents on various tasks.
• Multi-Agent Orchestration: Developing the architecture for coordinating workflows across multiple AI agents working together on complex tasks.
• Architectural Decisions: Making key architectural decisions related to backend services and the overall infrastructure supporting the AI agents.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
• A strong engineering background with a focus on AI/ML.
• Excellent product intuition – understanding how to build AI systems that meet real user needs.
• Experience designing and building scalable AI systems that interact with external models (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic).
• Comfort working in a startup environment and building from scratch.
• Experience with Ruby on Rails (RoR) is a significant plus.
• A passion for building production-ready AI systems that are used by real enterprise users and deliver tangible results.
