Food Safety, Quality Chemist Position

Cargill seeks a talented and dedicated Food Safety, Quality Chemist to join their team. This role is instrumental in ensuring that products meet and exceed customer expectations for quality and food safety. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in chemistry or a related scientific field, combined with a passion for ensuring food safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Quality Assurance: Monitor and maintain quality assurance systems, including calibration and maintenance of instruments, cross-checks of procedures, and assessment of raw materials.
• Process Optimization: Provide technical guidance and support to production operations to ensure product quality, minimize process variation, maximize recoveries, reduce waste, and minimize costs.
• Data Analysis and Troubleshooting: Analyze data, identify trends, troubleshoot problems, implement corrective actions, and communicate findings effectively.
• Food Safety and Compliance: Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and company standards, including training, auditing, and overseeing analytical testing.
• Training and Collaboration: Train new team members on food safety and quality procedures, collaborate with colleagues in various departments, and escalate complex issues to appropriate staff.

Work Environment:

• This position is located in an industrial/processing plant environment, requiring a moderate amount of physical exertion.
• Work may involve exposure to heat, cold, and wet environments.
• The role may require working different shifts, including 12-hour rotating shifts covering evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
