Food Safety, Quality & Regulatory Internship

This internship program within Cargill’s FSQR function offers students with a passion for the food industry and a scientific background a chance to apply classroom knowledge to a real-world manufacturing environment. You’ll gain valuable experience working alongside experienced professionals, contributing to critical food safety, quality, and efficiency initiatives.

Here’s what you can expect:

Immersion in Manufacturing: Experience the breadth of Cargill’s manufacturing processes, including edible oil refining/packaging, protein production, and starch/sweetener processing.
FSQR Expertise: Gain exposure to core FSQR programs like Food Safety, HACCP, auditing, laboratory & instrumentation, food manufacturing, product inspection, and supplier/external manufacturing.
Meaningful Projects: Participate in impactful projects that enhance the organization’s overall performance.
On-the-Job Learning: Conduct daily assessments of process quality, participate in data analysis, troubleshoot issues, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Development Opportunities: Receive access to extensive learning resources, mentorship from experienced leaders, and networking opportunities with other interns and co-ops.

Your Responsibilities:

• Work on a primary project assigned to further your development while contributing to Cargill’s success.
• Ensure final product approval and compliance with customer specifications.
• Conduct daily assessments of quality parameters and systems, including calibration, raw materials, maintenance, and food safety protocols.
• Analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions for processing, product, and wastewater.
• Operate and maintain lab, control room, and in-process instrumentation.
• Safely dispose of hazardous wastes.
• Contribute to process improvement projects and document development.
