Job Description: Food Safety, Quality and Regulatory (FSQR) Internship

This internship within Cargill’s FSQR function offers students with a scientific background and interest in the food industry a chance to apply classroom knowledge to a real-world food manufacturing setting. The program is designed to provide solutions to customers through various projects.

Internship Responsibilities:

Primary Project: A major project focused on personal and professional development while contributing to Cargill. This includes final product approval and ensuring compliance with customer specifications.
Quality Assurance: Daily assessment of process quality parameters and quality assurance systems. This encompasses calibration, raw materials, maintenance, procedures, food safety, training, and auditing.
Data Analysis: Data analysis, trend identification, troubleshooting, corrective actions, and communication regarding processing data, final product, and wastewater.
Instrumentation: Operation and maintenance of lab, control room, and in-process instrumentation.
Waste Disposal: Safe disposal of hazardous biological and chemical wastes.
Additional Duties: Miscellaneous tasks as assigned, such as process improvement projects, developing and modifying Food Safety and Quality procedures, and assisting other locations with process start-ups and projects.
Exposure to FSQR Programs: The internship offers exposure to various FSQR programs, including Food Safety, HACCP and auditing processes; Laboratory & Instrumentation programs; Food manufacturing & Pre-requisite programs; Product inspection and disposition; supplier and external manufacturing.

Internship Programming:

Internship Details:

Duration: Typically 12 weeks (May/June – August 2026).
Compensation: Paid hourly ($20.40 – $28.20, dependent on graduation date and full-time employment eligibility).
Transportation: Interns are responsible for their own transportation.
Future Opportunities: High-performing interns may be offered further internship, co-op, or full-time positions.
