Food & Beverage Leader in Training (Internship)

This role is for a master multitasker and memory maker, where no two days are the same. You will delight, problem-solve, and make the day for our incredible guests. Thriving in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, you will be responsible for efficiently handling guest check-in and check-out processes, including room credits, keys, guest issue resolution, and special requests. You will support the Guest Services and Front Office team with financial and service-related tasks to create unique and meaningful experiences for guests who can’t wait to return.

What you’ll do: The Brass Tacks

  • Learns practical application of leadership skills in various outlets/departments including Fireside Room restaurant, The Grill restaurant, and Banquet & Catering.
  • Assumes various roles including Host/Runner/Busser, Server, Bartender/Barback, Event Staff, and more.
  • Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, management of team members, scheduling, purchasing/inventory management, and creating an exceptional experience for all guests.
  • Support all departments once trained.
  • Develops and maintains favorable working relationships and open communication with all departments.
  • Manages guest issues effectively, keeping in mind both the guest’s needs and business objectives.
  • Conducts adequate follow-up with both guest and fellow team members.
  • Serves as operational lead in absence of direct manager/supervisor.
  • Uses discretion and professionalism in resolving guest conflicts and uses good judgment to consult with management if assistance or follow-up is needed.
  • Positively contributes to CH/Sage Lodge values and property culture.

The Nitty Gritty (Requirements)

  • 2-3 years related experience and/or training; OR Bachelor’s Degree from a College or University.
  • The ability to quickly learn and apply new procedures.
  • The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, guests, and the public.
  • The ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, promotions, percentages, and area.
  • The ability to solve practical problems when only limited standardization exists.
  • The ability to interpret written and oral instructions.
  • Strong computer skills: full knowledge of Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s).
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
