Job Description: Flight Test Control Engineer (FTCE)

This position is for a Flight Test Control Engineer (FTCE) within the Test and Evaluation directorate based in Greenville, SC. The role will involve supporting the modification of USAF flight test aircraft at Eglin AFB, Florida.

Key Responsibilities:

Flight Test Aircraft Modification Support: The FTCE will provide engineering support for flight test aircraft modifications and ground operations.
Coordination and Execution of Tasks: They will direct aircraft modifications, coordinate and execute engineering-directed tasks, including ground testing, maintenance on unique test hardware, and pre-flight/post-flight activities.
Configuration Management: They will control and track aircraft configuration, coordinate and stage support equipment, develop and maintain aircraft test schedules, and collaborate with other organizations involved in test readiness.
Point of Contact: The FTCE will act as a point of contact for the Test and Evaluation directorate, requiring strong communication skills to interact effectively with all levels of management.

Qualifications:

Experience: 5-10 years of professional experience is typically required for this level 3 role.
Flight Test Expertise: Experience with flight testing of military aircraft is essential.
Modification Experience: Experience completing modifications to avionics/mission systems and/or vehicle/utility systems is necessary.
Engineering Drawings: Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings is required.

Desired Skills:

Bachelor’s Degree: A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is highly preferred.
Security Clearance: A Secret security clearance is required.
Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of technical orders, military flight operations, and maintenance concepts is advantageous.
F-16 Expertise: Specific knowledge of F-16 avionics/mission systems and vehicle/utility systems is a plus.
System Knowledge: Understanding of installed aircraft systems/subsystems and support equipment is beneficial.
Troubleshooting Skills: Fault isolation and/or problem analysis skills at the subsystem level are valuable.
System/Software Engineering: Good knowledge of the system/software engineering environment is helpful.
Modification Experience: Experience performing aircraft modifications or familiarity with USAF T2 modification processes is desirable.
SAP and SFM: Working knowledge of SAP and Shop Floor Management (SFM) is a plus.

Other Important Information:

Travel: This position requires >75% travel, primarily to Eglin AFB, FL.
US Citizenship: This position is located at a facility requiring special access and therefore requires US citizenship.
