About the Job:
CenterPoint Energy is looking for a Fitter (Union IBEW 702) to join their SIG Evansville Team, located in Evansville, Indiana.
Responsibilities:
– Perform gas utility construction work activities according to classification.
– Satisfactorily complete all training and Operator Qualifications requirements of the classification.
– Be capable of physically and mentally working in/on gas facilities.
– Be able to learn safety rules associated with job duties and follow the same.
– Operate equipment used to perform main installs, service installs, leak investigations, and leak surveys.
– Present a neat appearance and work with internal and external customers in a courteous and efficient manner.
– Perform other work as assigned, including service watch.
Requirements:
– High school diploma or equivalent.
– 4+ years of direct work experience related to the main accountabilities as outlined.
– Basic math skills, written and verbal communication skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to use tools and equipment.
– Basic computer skills.
– CDL or be willing to obtain one within 60 days of hire.
– Live within 30 miles of their reporting headquarter.
– Be available to work overtime.
