Entry Level Finance | Asset Staffing

The Tone:
This is a contract role at financial firms, located in Manhattan, NY; Westchester County, NY; Baltimore, MD; and Dallas, TX. Asset Staffing connects college graduates with long-term contract positions within these firms. This role is crucial for ensuring the efficient and timely processing of various financial operations, from collateral management to cash movements, directly supporting client and firm financing desks.

What You’ll Actually Do
Manage Collateral Operations: Process tri-party and bilateral collateral optimization, sourcing, and exposure management.
Oversee Equity & Financing Book: Ensure the efficient and timely processing of the Equity and financing book, including recalls, substitutions, restrictions, pledging, and exposure management.
Facilitate Desk Operations: Act as a central contact for Client Financing and Firm Financing desks operations, coordinating with various internal teams such as Trading, Sales, Finance, IT, and support functions.
Reconcile Financial Data: Perform position and balance reconciliation between external agents and the firm, and ensure the timely processing of cash movements between the firm, its clients, and agents.
Generate Financial Projections: Provide daily financing and funding projections to the Client Financing and Firm Financing desks and cash management, and collate and distribute key metric data to stakeholders.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree. College graduates with relevant internships or other financial-related concentrations/majors.
• Experience: Relevant internships in finance or equivalent financial-related academic background. Understanding of relationships traders and sales forces hold with clients, and motivation towards increasing market share.
• Skills: MS Office proficiency; high degree of accuracy; willingness to learn new products; clear and concise communication with clients and team members; ability to meet daily deadlines; team play and leadership.
• Bonus: Automation tools such as Alteryx and Power BI; strong knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity products, settlement processes, and current market initiatives.
