About the Role: Financial Systems Intern

What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)

• Gain hands-on experience with financial business processes by collaborating closely with the IT Financial Systems team.
• Assist in the design, development, and maintenance of Financial System applications by leveraging your SQL and PL/SQL skills.
• Work closely with senior developers and database administrators to understand project requirements and deliver technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve day-to-day Production issues using SQL and PL/SQL knowledge.
• Document processes and create design documents that explain technical changes.

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications)

• Education: Full-time college student with plans to graduate in May 2027 (ideally the summer between Junior & Senior year).
• Currently pursuing a BS in Computer Science, Information Systems/MIS, Data Science, Financial Technology, or a related tech or fintech field.
• Availability: Ability to work 40 hours per week for 10 weeks and commute to our headquarters in Tysons Corner, VA.
• Technical Skills:
  • Fundamental understanding of relational databases.
  • Proficiency in writing SQL queries and PL/SQL scripts.
  • Familiarity with database management systems such as Oracle, MySQL, or SQL Server.
• Soft Skills:
  • Eager to learn, adaptable, and enjoys working in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a proactive approach to challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of business users and team members.
• Bonus: Any past finance experience or knowledge would be a plus.
