Job Description: Financial Reporting Analytics Internship

This internship provides hands-on experience working alongside Transamerica’s finance team on business-critical projects. Interns will apply classroom knowledge to real-world challenges, working independently and collaboratively. The role reports to a manager and involves interaction with various finance leaders and team members.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize multiple financial tools to conduct various analyses.
• Proactively identify and resolve problems, seeking assistance when needed.
• Adhere to the company’s internal controls framework.
• Conduct business process and data analysis to align high-level requirements with business initiatives.
• Create “as is” and “current state” documentation in written and graphical formats (flowcharts).
• Elicit business and systems requirements.
• Develop new or revised processes and procedures.
• Analyze business unit requests, document requirements, and work with technical staff to identify solutions and communicate business/system impacts.
• Analyze business data and transformation rules; prepare documentation for technical teams.
• Participate in project teams, providing business and data analysis on moderately complex information systems, including documenting business/system requirements and data transformation rules.
• Conduct research and analysis to quantify business opportunities and develop recommendations for management.
• Utilize project management methodologies to support systems development.
• Provide test scenarios or criteria based on business and systems analysis; potentially review test plans and matrices.
• Serve as a liaison between business units and other teams during requirements gathering.

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in accounting, finance, business analytics, or a related analytical field. (Internships are not available for graduates).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of AWS (Amazon Web Services).
• Experience and knowledge of Power BI, Tableau, or Amazon QuickSight.
