The Tone:
This is an Entry-Level Staff Accountant position at Simon Property Group, located in Corporate Indianapolis. This role is focused on the review, maintenance, and analysis of accounting areas within various Corporate Financial Reporting departments. As a key member of the finance team, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial data, supporting core reporting functions. Your work will contribute directly to the integrity of the company’s financial operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare monthly close journal entries for assigned areas in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
• Maintain: Ensure the monthly close process for assigned areas is performed accurately and timely.
• Document: Review and maintain documentation for assigned areas within the trial balances and general ledger.
• Analyze: Analyze results, transactions, and financial statements on a monthly basis.
• Report: Prepare and distribute monthly financial reporting information to internal personnel.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree with a major or concentration in Accounting, required for this entry-level career stage.
• Experience: Accounting internship in either a public accounting or corporate environment is preferred.
• Skills: Effective analytical skills, exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented, and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Bonus: Working towards a CPA license is a plus, and familiarity with AI tools (such as Claude or CoPilot) is also a plus.
