Financial Reporting Accountant | A Hiring Company

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at A Hiring Company, with a hybrid work model primarily based in Coeur d’Alene, with periodic on-site work in Kellogg, ID. At the Sunshine, the company is focused on reviving and rebuilding a legacy around one of America’s most iconic silver mines. This role is critical in preparing accurate and timely financial information, supporting a once-in-a-generation opportunity, and contributing to a culture built on people and purpose.

• Location: Hybrid, Coeur d’Alene, with periodic on-site work in Kellogg, ID (quarterly equivalent of one week per month)
• Pay: $85000–$100000 yearly
• Mission: Responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial statements and supporting disclosures, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP.
• Tech Stack: Excel, Microsoft Dynamics, Workiva, ERP systems

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Statements: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and support preparation of filings and reporting.
• Technical Accounting & Compliance: Assist with researching accounting guidance, drafting technical memos, and supporting compliance activities including controls documentation and testing.
• Audit & Treasury: Participate in annual audit and quarterly review processes, respond to auditor requests, and actively participate in treasury and cash management.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline reporting processes, enhance financial controls, and contribute to system improvements or reporting automation initiatives.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with operational accounting teams to resolve discrepancies, support preparation of board and audit committee materials, and promote company culture.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with a strong understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience: 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience, with proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
• Skills: Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, high attention to detail, and strong problem-solving abilities.
• Bonus: CPA or CPA-eligible, experience with financial reporting, Microsoft Dynamics, Workiva, or similar ERP systems, or prior mining or public company experience.
