Summary

The FM Global Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team, primarily located in Johnston, RI, plays a crucial role in the financial health of our global operations. The team is responsible for the budgeting, planning, forecasting, and operational reporting for all insurance operations across all geographical areas worldwide.

Schedule & Location

  • Position Type: Full-time internship
  • Hours: 37.5 hours per week
  • Work Arrangement: On-site position
  • Location: Corporate Headquarters in Johnston, RI
  • Dates: Flexible start and end dates to accommodate student needs, with a preferred start in May and end date in August.

Responsibilities

This internship provides invaluable experience, preparing you for a full-time career in finance by offering real-world exposure to the following areas:

  • Budgeting and forecasting for a complex global insurance organization.
  • Conducting in-depth financial analysis for worldwide operations.
  • Engaging in regular interactions with corporate staff functions and global operations.
  • Performing research and reconciliation of multi-currency transactions.
  • Monitoring corporate projects and actively tracking expense management.
  • Assisting in the development of PowerBI dashboards and advanced budgeting tools.
  • Supporting your manager with other duties as deemed appropriate.

Qualifications

Required Education

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Must be a rising senior student (entering your final year of study).
  • A minimum GPA of 3.3 or higher.

Highly Preferred Work Experience

  • Previous internship work experience or consistent work experience in a team environment.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • Robust critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

Highly Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with PeopleSoft.
  • Experience with business analytics and financial statement analysis.
