About the Role: Financial, Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern
StandardAero is actively seeking a highly motivated, eager, and innovative student to join our team for the Summer 2026 as a Financial, Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Intern. This is a unique opportunity to gain valuable hands-on industry experience and learn directly from experts, collaborating with teams that consistently set the standard for excellence.
As an FP&A Intern, you will partner directly with finance leadership and various cross-functional stakeholders. Your contributions will be vital in supporting data-driven decision-making and you will gain significant exposure to the financial systems, tools, and best practices utilized within a dynamic global organization.
This is a 10-12-week, paid internship designed to provide comprehensive insight into the world of aviation finance.
Specific Accountabilities & Responsibilities
As an FP&A Intern, your key responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with comprehensive monthly and quarterly budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Preparing and supporting the development of crucial Management Reports, Dashboards, and Executive-level Presentations.
- Analyzing financial and operational data to proactively identify potential risks and opportunities for the business.
- Building and maintaining robust financial models to effectively evaluate:
- Business Performance
- Key Trends & Drivers
- Strategic Initiatives
- Collaborating closely with various cross-functional teams (including commercial, operations, accounting, and program management) to:
- Gain a deep understanding of core business drivers.
- Provide essential support for leadership decision-making.
- Drive improvements in financial processes and reporting efficiency.
- Supporting continuous process improvement and automation initiatives within the FP&A function.
- Participating actively in ad-hoc financial analysis and various strategic projects as needed.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university, or possessing equivalent background.
- Demonstrated knowledge of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and basic accounting principles.
- Familiarity with basic accounting software or accounting spreadsheets.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong emphasis on Excel.
- Proven ability to clearly and effectively communicate information both verbally and in written format.
- Possession of strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining meticulous attention to detail and a focus on timely delivery.
- A self-directed, results-oriented, and flexible approach to work.
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure and adhere to tight deadlines.
- Comfortable with sitting for long periods and viewing a computer monitor for extended durations.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred Characteristics
While not strictly required, candidates demonstrating the following characteristics will be highly regarded:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.
- Familiarity with Oracle systems.
- Familiarity with business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI).
